Pro-Mark drumsticks was founded in 1957 by Herb Brochstein - drum teacher and drum shop owner. Pro-Mark was the first drumstick manufacturer to introduce Japanese Shira Kashi white oak into the American market and also uses only unendangered wood in the manufacturing of its Pro- Mark drumsticks and mallets. Twenty of their stick models feature the “Natural” (no lacquer) finish with Pro-Mark the first company to offer this option in the early 1990s. Endorsers include Abe Cunningham (Deftones), Peter Criss (KISS), Dom Howard (Muse) and the late great Elvin Jones.
