Since 1978, the 808 series has stood the test of time and is now available in several different tonewood configurations. C.G.P. Inlay Tommy Emmanuel models feature a Mother of Pearl block inlay on the 12th Fret, engraved with "C.G.P." The acronym stands for "Certified Guitar Player," a title bestowed on Tommy by Chet Atkins and held by only 3 other guitarists in the world - John Knowles, Jerry Reed and Steve Warriner. APMic Pickup System. Using the same circuitry and pickup as the AP5, the APMic features an "Add On" microphone, positioned just inside the treble side of the sound hole. The microphone is used as a blend; the typical setting would be approximately 10% mic and 90% pickup. The role of the microphone is to add sustain and "air" around the signal that is missing when a pickup is used on its own. All Maton acoustic guitars are strung with Elixir Ultra-Thin NANOWEB™ coated light gauge strings ( 0.012 - 0.053 ) The use of Elixir Strings ensures that each Maton Guitar will perform to its maximum potential.
