Gordon Matheson - Guitar Lessons

Gordon is an established guitarist with a long and prosperous career playing with artists such as Diana Ross, Liza Minnelli
and music for The Rocky Horror Show.

Teaching with Joe Pass in the early days of Bruce Clarke’s Work shop, Gordon’s 25 years of teaching experience has given him the ability to take a student through all styles of music and all levels of learning.

Gordon will also be holding a group improvisational class which will enable the student to learn and grow in their individual performance and technical skills.

Luan Krasmiqi - Guitar Lessons

Luan is currently studying a Bachelor of Popular Music at the Queensland Conservatorium, and has been playing guitar for 6 years, with an extensive knowledge in a variety of musical styles.

Luan plays in multiple bands, duos and recordings as a session guitarist and performer.

Luan provides a focused and driven teaching environment to bring out the absolute best out of each student’s unique voice on the guitar.

Omar Hanlon - Bass Lessons

Omar was born with rhythm in his blood and picked up his first bass guitar at the age of 8. He immediately formed a band with his brother Saia, called Acetone, which went on to win the Gold Coast Unsigned Battle of the Bands 1998.

Mentored by the likes of Eva Breckon, Max Stowers, Damian Barnard, David Watson and Tuhi Timote, Omar studied at The Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane under Peter Walters, Steven Newcombe, Jose and Lisa McLachlan, John Hoffman and Helen and Steve Russell. He has also freelanced along the Eastern Seaboard from Cairns down to Canberra, touring with a variety of bands and covering many styles and feels from Blues (Blind Lemon, James Southwell and Phil Emanuel) through to Rock (Jess Day and the Live and Lie who have just returned from a successful recording in Denmark). Omar and his brother have formed their own band ‘Hanlon Rhythm Group’ gigging regularly around the Gold Coast covering all styles from R&B through to Jazz including writing their own tunes.

Omar continues to play nationally and internationally, and is currently the bass player for Stan Walker and a number of other high profile musicians.

Graeme Porter - Drum Lessons










Graeme Porter - Drum Lessons

Graeme’s formative music years were spent as a brass player, where he achieved considerable success in solo competitions at a state and national level. Playing in orchestras and cabaret groups enriched his experiences and musical education. Early adulthood led Graeme to convert to the drums with two years of training with Harry Lebler in Brisbane during the early 1970s. Performing with well established pop/rock groups and jazz ensembles soon followed.

Professionally, Graeme trained as a mainstream high school teacher but after five years converted to instrumental music teaching which he has now been doing for almost 30 years. Graeme is very passionate about helping beginner to intermediate drum students form solid foundation skills that will assist them to become either competent hobbyists or professional musicians, which ever they should choose to be.

Widely acclaimed for his versatility, technological prowess and groove, Saia Hanlon is one of the most sought-after drummers and session men around. He has collaborated with artist ranging from Rock bands Brian Cadd, Wa Wa Nee, jazz greats the new Galapagos Duck to pop artist Ricki Lee and Stan Walker.

Darrin Potaka - Sax Lessons

Darrin studied at the School of Creative Musicianship in Auckland in the 80s. He has an extensive background in performance in the rock, blues, funk, soul, and jazz and has performed and recorded with originals bands and projects in New Zealand – National Anthem, Maiden China, The Politicians among others, and Wiley Reed here in Australia. He is currently the saxophonist with Beyond the Darkside – Australia’s largest and longest established Pink Floyd tribute show.

Darrin teaches a creative yet disciplined approach to developing on the sax. He has worked with saxophone students on a freelance basis and takes an approach that is centered on having fun while progressing with tone, technique, creativity and harmony.

Roslyn Owens - Vocal Lessons
Roslyn Owens - Vocal Lessons

Roslyn has made an outstanding contribution to the Performing Arts Industry for more than 20 years. After growing up in Sydney, by the time she was 18, she had already achieved success performing many times as a soloist at the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour as well as being the lead solo vocalist for a 30-piece Pop Orchestra MSCPO whilst touring China. Roslyn has also had extensive experience in singing with choirs as well as lead roles in musical theatre productions.

She later left Sydney to pursue a Bachelor in Contemporary Music (Majoring in Vocals) as well as completing her Graduate Diploma in Music Education in 2001. Since then, Roslyn has performed with top Pop/ Rock Cover Bands on the QLD/ NSW East Coast, most notably Ear Candy and Divalicious. She is also a prominent session singer for many Local and National recording artists including past Australian Idol Top finalists, as well as doing voice-overs and jingles, including popular Gold Coast Radio station 102.9fm Hot Tomato.

Currently, Roslyn continues her 15 yrs experience in teaching to share her passion in singing and piano to students of all ages, from beginners to the more advanced in most contemporary styles of music.
