Our location in downtown Melbourne is ideally suited for people who work in the city or are joining the increasing number of permanent residents. Our lesson times can be flexible to cater for your needs, whether a lunchtime suits, after work or on a Saturday. We offer private airconditioned teaching rooms on the first floor of our city store. We cater for all age groups and levels of experience.

Nathan Slater – Guitar Lessons

Nathan started with classical guitar, achieving Grade 6 AMEB. He continued studies in 2001 with jazz guitarist Ben Hauptmann and in 2002-3 at Canberra School of Music with Greg Stott and Mike Price.

In 2004 Nathan moved to Melbourne to study his Bachelor of Music Performance at the VCA, studying with some of the finest guitarists in Australia and from abroad including Geoff Hughes – Head of Electric Guitar. Nathan has also studied with famed Flamenco guitarist Richard Tedesco and with Jazz/Brazilian performer, Doug De Vries. Whilst in Melbourne, Nathan has played with greats such as Alison Wedding, Dave Leibman, Alex Pertout, Darryn Farrugia, Andrew Gander and Leonard Gregorian.

Nathan – a recipient of the Athenaeum Award for Music Composition and the VCA Professors Award for Excellence in Performance – has been hailed as “A formidable talent with his star on the rise… a name to watch in the very near future.

Nathan’s teaching experience is extensive. He teaches private students and has taught in guitar schools and state and private secondary schools in Melbourne.

Genaaron Diamente – Guitar Lessons

Genaaron began learning guitar at a very early age. In 2005, he enrolled with the Victorian College of the Arts. During his time there, Genaaron studied with some of the finest guitarists in Australia including Geoff Hughes – Head of Electric Guitar.

He studied jazz with some of this country’s finest guitarists such as Stephen Magnusson and Peter Petrucci and with the renowned Jazz/Brazilian guitarist Doug De Vries. Genaaron has also studied classical guitar with well known performer and teacher Anthony Field.

Genaaron has taught for many years in high school, individually and in group classes, and has since taught hundreds of students. He has a wide range of experience teaching many different styles and has guided students through exams and VCE performances.

Genaaron currently performs extensively throughout Melbourne. He plays in jazz bands, rock bands, duos, trios and performs as a solo guitarist. He is also a dedicated composer and producer and is currently involved in several recording projects involving original bands and solo works.

Delany Stewart – Guitar + Bass Lessons

Delaney has played guitar since he was nine years old. He won a music scholarship to the highly acclaimed Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, graduating in 2003.

He then studied at Monash University in 2004, where he gained a Bachelor of Music in Improvisation, under Australia’s most esteemed musicians including Doug DeVries, Steve Magnusson, Steve Hadley, Steve Sedergreen and Rob Burke.

In addition to classical studies, Delaney’s interests also lie with Brazilian music, blues, rock, reggae, funk, jazz, traditional Cuban music as well as orchestral music.

In the past four years, Delaney has taught acoustic, electric and bass guitar to a vast array of students ranging from young children to adults. Song-writing and musical expression is also explored with students under Delaney’s tutelage.

Currently he composes for a six piece reggae band, a three piece rock band and a Brazilian guitar duet, all of which are actively performing and touring around the country. He has a wide knowledge and experience of the music industry from many angles.

Edward has taught music for eleven years and enjoys developing technique and creativity in his students, from beginners
to advanced.

He has performed in bands since the age of fifteen. For ten years he was a member of The Wolves, signed to Roadrunner Records, and performed at Big Day Out, Festival Hall, The Hifi Bar & Ballroom, and The Esplanade Hotel with international acts including Slipknot, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Nevermore, Screaming Jets and Skin Lab.

In 1999 Edward formed The Berzerker, which received international recognition and released 5 albums through international label Earache Records, as well as touring America and the UK on a regular basis.

Edward works as a session musician for rock and metal bands in Melbourne. He has also worked in musical theatre at La Mamma, Carlton, for two years.

Edward assists students wishing to form or join a band. Focus on extended rhythm, aural and song-writing skills together with strategies for structuring and rehearsing a band assists more advanced students.

Elÿan Fernova - Drumming - all music styles
Elÿan Fernova - Drum Lessons - all music styles

Elÿan was born in Italy and started playing drums at the age of four. He studied with Mariano Manocchi, percussionist of Italian State Television for three years. He studied at the Dante Agostini College in Paris, and at the age of twenty,
went professional.

In 2002 Elÿan played alongside Virgil Donati, Dave Weckl and Dom Famularo to record the DVD AUDW 19th Anniversary. He moved to Melbourne in 2003. In 2005, along with Australian jazz saxophonist Andy Sugg, he participated in making the CD After Utopia featuring Dave Liebman, Sam Keevers, Kim Kelaart and Steve Magnusson.

In 2005 he recorded drums for Australian Idol finalist, Laura Gissara’s song Ti Amo. In 2006 he played in the Dan Nation band, and in 2007 he joined Rockstar Experience as drum coach.

His approach to teaching is to provide a different outlook to how drums should be played, especially in professional situations, incorporating his experience in studio and live performances.

Caleb Yu – Piano + Keyboard Lessons

Caleb Jia Le Yuhas played piano since the age of six. In Australia, he has studied piano with the well known composer William Chu. With a music scholarship, he attended Camberwell Grammar School, learning contemporary piano from Glenn Riddle and Mark Kerr.

At the age of fifteen Caleb completed his AMEB Associate Diploma in Piano Performance.In 2004, Caleb was awarded the Whitehorse Music Award. He then studied at Monash University under the supervision of Tamara Smolyar (Head of Keyboards, Monash University) and Mira Jakobanetz (Head of Keyboards, Melbourne Grammar). Caleb was awarded two Joan Earle prizes for Excellence in Piano Studies.

In 2006, Caleb was invited to perform at the reopening of the Melbourne Museum and was invited to Beijing and Inner Mongolia for recitals and recordings. During 2007 he was offered a number of opportunities to perform live on 3MBS classical FM radio, playing the works of Liszt and Tchaikovsky. Caleb is currently under the guidance of the concert pianist Dr Boris Gluslitser (International Liszt prize winner in Hungary).

Caleb’s objectives in teaching are to improve and inspire his students encouraging them to achieve high results and have confidence of presentation in performance, and most of all to have fun.

Gowri holds a degree in music from The University of Melbourne, with a major in piano and minor
in voice with Igor Machlak and Vivien Hamilton.

Her musical journey has been rich and diverse. She has excelled as a classical and contemporary pianist, jazz vocalist, choral scholar and Indian Carnatic musician. In Singapore she competed at national level in Indian music competitions as a singer and veena player. She also recently secured the position of Senior Scholar of Queens College Choir.

She has diverse musical interests, from renaissance madrigals to gypsy music to jazz. Gowri dedicated the final two years of her degree to studying the pedagogy of music and continues to research, explore and create new and exciting methods for learning music.

Gowri is especially interested in the psychology of music, and tailors students’ musical education to suit their personalities and interests.

Marija Stojanovic – Piano Lessons

Marija teaches music through the piano, not just the piano.

Born in Serbia, Marija began her classical piano studies at the age of nine. After finishing school, she went to Belgrade where she graduated from Faculty of Music (piano performance), University of Arts.

Marija is undertaking a Master of Music Studies at the University of Melbourne with famous pianist Mr Stephen McIntyre.

Due to the diverse influences of teachers from whom she has learned, Marija has achieved a technique which is a fusion of Russian and French pianistic schools.

Although she has frequently performed Brahms, Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin and other composers, her real identification is with the music of Bach, Beethoven and Prokofiev. Famous pianists including Sviatoslav Richter and Glenn Gould have influenced her development strongly as a musician and an artist. Marija has performed extensively not only as a soloist but also as an accompanist and in chamber music ensembles.

Marija taught in the specialised Jovan Bandan Music School for Elementary and Secondary Education in Serbia, where she prepared students for examinations and coached prize winning students in competition season. With over seven years of experience in teaching, she has a strong commitment to the education of children and adults.
